When selecting film faced plywood (marin plywood), there are many different grades selections.
Glue type is one of the most important factor which determines the quality of the plywood.
WBP (Water Boiled Proof) glue is necessary for the marine plywood,
Phenolic glue, Melamine glue and MR glue are the most commonly used.
Below are the differences of those three kinds of glue from the view of the plywood quality:
Phenolic WBP glue plywood can be used more than 20times,
Melamine WBP glue plywood can be used 6~10times.
MR glue plywood can be used 2~4times.
Phenolic WBP can bear 72 hours in boiling water,
Melamine WBP can bear around 6~ 24 hours in boiling water,
MR glue can't bear in boiling water.
Obviously, Phenolic glue is the best, it's also the most expensive selection.
Generally, Melamine glue is good enough for common construction formwork use plywood.
